It’s been more than Three weeks I am back from the recent road trip to Rishikesh & Mussoorie and I am still not over it. I went there for a long weekend. Hence, It was a Three day trip From Delhi to Rishikesh-Dehradun-Mussoorie. We were four and chose to go via road because, why not?; It’s more fun especially if you are going from Delhi. Rishikesh is 230kms away from Delhi via NH58 located in the Garhwal Region of Uttrakhand.
After having our morning Tea from the famous Chai point, we spent a few hours there and continued on our way to Rishikesh.
Rishikesh, Uttrakhand |
Rishikesh is 20km away from Haridwar; it took us four hours more to reach there.
It is famous for the water activities including Rafting, cliff jumping and boating. The rafting season starts from the month of March and ends in September.
We started with the rafting first after reaching. You can go for
the 16km rafting if it's your first time.
In the middle of rafting, we came across a Maggie Point where you
can get a timeout and have something to eat. Adventure seekers can do Cliff
jumping for more fun. You will have to jump from a height onto the river. It
takes real guts I must say! Especially, if you are a non-swimmer or height
phobic.

We came back to the camp in the evening and the rest of the evening went on sitting at the corner of the lake with music and bonfire. Sitting at the corner of the river was an oasis of serenity at its best.
Walking down on the streets of Rishikesh will make you feel peaceful. This place has the strong spiritual vibes.

Next morning we headed on our way to Mussoorie via Dehradun. We
did lunch at the beautiful Citi Dehradun. The way to Mussoorie from Dehradun is
a real beauty. The road goes up, gradually higher with the exhilarating view of
the mountains. The higher the way, the better it will get. We regretted taking
the car to Mussoorie, as it was a long weekend consequently more travelers and
heavy traffic. We were in the traffic jam for the whole day.
Mussoorie |
We reached Mussoorie almost by the evening, all thanks to the heavy traffic jam! Unfortunately, we couldn’t visit the famous place "Kempty falls" as the whole day went in the Jam, so we went to visit the mall road instead.
Street food is the main highlight here along with the beautiful view from the top. You will get a plenty of food options, from street food to the restaurants.
We almost forgot our hard day after reaching there. The hills
veiled in the fog & clouds looked breathtakingly beautiful. It was the last
spot of our trip and then we headed back.
